Maci Pike MA, LPCC

Psychotherapist in Denver, Colorado

What would it feel like to move through the world as yourself, without the pressure to perform or be everything to everyone? Maybe you’ve learned to keep the peace by putting others first, to measure your worth by what you accomplish, or to numb the parts of yourself that feel too difficult to sit with. Maybe addiction, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or the need to always appear okay has become a way of getting through the day. These patterns often begin as ways of coping, connecting, or protecting ourselves. Over time, though, they can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and from the life we want to be living.

You’ve come to the right place!

I’m Maci, and I work with folks who are ready to reconnect with themselves, explore who they are beneath the masks they wear, and tell the story of their life that feels more authentic and meaningful. You may already have a sense of the person you want to become; you might just need the space, support, and tools to begin finding your way there.

I help clients build self-trust, develop a deeper understanding of themselves, and find a greater sense of connection and purpose. Together, we explore the stories that have shaped you, the patterns that no longer serve you, and the possibilities that emerge when you begin making choices rooted in your own values rather than fear, expectation, or the need for approval.

I believe therapy should be a place to question the rules you’ve been living by, not another place to get them right. This isn’t about fixing you or fitting your life into someone else’s idea of healing. It’s about getting curious about the stories, systems, and expectations that shaped you and deciding what still deserves a place in your life.

We begin by slowing down in a world that rarely asks us to. We pay attention to what you carry: the histories you inherited, the identities you’ve performed, the grief you’ve swallowed, and the ways you’ve learned to survive. Together, we explore what keeps you reaching for approval, achievement, or numbness when what you really want is to feel alive. From there, we make room for uncertainty, reconnect with the wisdom of your body, and experiment with different ways of being in relationship with yourself and others.

The goal isn’t to become a more acceptable version of yourself. It’s to get closer to the person you are beneath the noise and to begin living a story that feels like your own.

I am dedicated to helping people tell their story.

I’m a therapist specializing in substance use, trauma, grief, and life transitions, with a particular interest in identity, women’s issues, sexuality,  recovery, and the complexities of navigating cultural change. Whether you’re adjusting to a new country, questioning the religious or socioeconomic systems you grew up in, or trying to find your footing between different worlds, these transitions can challenge your sense of belonging, identity, and home.

I’m dedicated to helping folks untangle the stories they’ve inherited, the identities they’ve outgrown, and the patterns that keep them from living fully. My work explores substance use, trauma, grief, life transitions, and the experience of finding your footing between cultures, countries, and versions of yourself.

Grounded in narrative and existential therapy, I believe we can honor where we’ve been without letting it write the ending. Together, we make space for the messy, contradictory, unfinished parts of being human. We get curious about what you carry, what you’re ready to release, and what might become possible when you stop performing and start listening to yourself.

You don’t have to arrive with a polished story or a clear ending. Just a willingness to begin.

I offer individual therapy sessions at a rate of $135 per 50-minute session. I am also in-network with Kaiser. You can email me at maci@kincounseling.co.

I’d be honored to partner with you as you heal.

Let’s work together to tend to the wounds that are keeping you stuck.
